Octogenaal staal buis is voornamelijk naadloos buis of gelast buis, producede volgens de Chinese norm GB/T 3094, die een norm is voor koud getrokken stalen buizen.
Het is de meest voorkomende vorm van staalbuis, maar de meeste van de staalbuizen hebben een hoger traagheidsmoment en een hoger sectiemodule.meer flexibele torsiekracht, kan het structurele gewicht aanzienlijk verminderen, waardoor staal wordt bespaard.

De vorm van de uiteinden:
